Shop. Donate. Help Us Build Affordable Homes.

The Nanaimo ReStore is more than just a second-hand store—it’s a vital part of Habitat for Humanity Mid-Vancouver Island’s mission to build affordable housing for local families. When you shop or donate at the ReStore, you’re directly supporting the construction of safe, decent homes in our community.

We sell a wide range of new and gently used furniture, appliances, building materials, and home décor, all at affordable prices. Proceeds from every sale go straight into funding our local build projects—so your next DIY or home upgrade can help build someone else’s future.

Summer 2026 Building Material Drive: On Now

Can your company lead the way in Vancouver Island's building material donation drive? This summer, we’re challenging contractors, developers, trades, manufacturers, and suppliers to compete in our inaugural Building Material Drive.

The challenge is simple: Instead of sending surplus and salvaged construction materials to landfill, donate them to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore to support affordable housing projects in our community.

We've made participating easy. Request a free job site pickup or drop your materials off at your local Habitat ReStore.

How We Make A Difference

At Habitat for Humanity Mid-Vancouver Island, we focus on creating a clear pathway to affordable homeownership for local families who are ready to build a better future—but who don’t qualify for traditional mortgages. Our affordable homeownership program bridges the gap between social housing, rental housing, and the open market by offering families the chance to purchase a home at fair market value, with no down payment and an affordable mortgage.
