    Completed in 2021, this multi-family building at 625 Jubilee Street in Duncan is a modern 6-plex with three single story, two bedroom apartments on the ground floor and three, two level three bedroom apartments on the top floor.

    The Meadow Hill development is the biggest project to date for Habitat for Humanity Mid-Vancouver Island. A lot was purchased on Extension Road at the south end of Nanaimo for a six house strata, being built in three phases, two houses per phase. In February 2014, the 30,000 square foot lot was purchased for $290,000. The completion date for the Meadow Hill development was December 2017.

    In February 2014, a 30,000 square foot lot was purchased for $290,000. The Meadow Hill Development located on Extension Road in Nanaimo is the largest development undertaken by Habitat for Humanity Mid-Vancouver Island to date. The six unit strata is being built in three phases, two houses per phase. The completion date for the Meadow Hill development was December 2017.

    Prideaux Street, Nanaimo

    Prideaux Street was the next duplex building project and would be constructed to meet the Built Green Gold Standard. In building the duplex, energy efficient framing methods and environmentally friendly building products would be used. Ground was broken in April 2013 with the help of VIU heavy equipment operator students.

    Strathcona Road, Ladysmith

    This home was originally built by Habitat for Humanity Mid-Vancouver Island in 2009. In 2012, the homeowner got married and decided to ‘pay it forward’ by returning her home to Habitat Mid-Vancouver Island, so that another family could benefit from the Habitat homeownership program. Meagan, a single mother and her two children, were chosen as the future homeowners.

  • Hecate Street, Nanaimo

    A duplex on Hecate Street in Nanaimo was our next building project. Jo-Anne, a single working mom, with her son and Kerry, Laura and their son were selected to be the future homeowners.
